Living a humble and surrendered life, dedicated to God, is a beautiful choice to make! And it’s just that, a choice. It doesn’t tie you down, hold you back, or hinder your future success. It does the complete opposite! Being humble opens doors for you (when the time is right), advances you to new levels, and propels you in to the person God intended you to be!
Living humbly simply means, you know you’re not who you are, because of you. You know that you don’t deserve the blessings in your life but you are thankful and humbled that God would bless you the way he has. You don’t let pride take over when God sees fit to increase your territory. You know that he could have chosen anyone to carry out your callings but he chose you and you’re thankful for the opportunity to carry out his will.
Being humble means you know you’re not more important than or above others. You know that you’re where you are today only because of God’s grace, mercy, and love. You know that only by him will you succeed and make a difference in this world. Being humble also means you serve God and people with a happy heart. Not looking for position or advancement but looking for ways to truly make a difference whether you get a pat on the back or not.
While God has called us to be humble (1 Peter 5:6) we are also called to be bold and courageous (1 Corinthians 16:13)! Being humble doesn’t mean you’re timid, shy, or fearful! It means you’re walkin in God’s confidence and not your own. God created you to be courageous and bold in him while keeping a humble heart and spirit.
Friend, I encourage you to walk in God’s will for your life and work for him, with all you’ve got! Accept and carry out whichever task is required of you, with a happy heart AND a good attitude. I promise you the blessings and favor of God will pour out on you as you choose to live this way.
