Hey there, my lovely friends! I hope you’re all doing great! I’ve been missing you so I had to check in and give you an update on how everything is going!
Since I last updated you, I saw an OBGYN who specializes in hormone therapy and also fertility. This wasn’t exactly the therapy option I was expecting however it seems to be a good option for our situation, at least a step in the right direction. He was very hopeful and positive about our situation though he does feel my progesterone level is an area of concern. We are monitoring my progesterone level to find a trend (if there is one – haha) and trying to determine if progesterone is required prior to getting pregnant. Normally if needed, you start progesterone when you find out you’re pregnant to help you carry the baby through the first trimester. If your level is already “too low” this method may not be as affective and a miscarriage can occur even with the use of progesterone. If I do have a lower than normal level, we will start progesterone to help my body build up to a healthy level before trying to get pregnant. This does put us in a waiting phase but I’m perfectly okay with this step. It will give me peace of mind to know the results and to put a plan together. He also gave me a lot of information on natural family planning since we are holding off on fertility and I plan to share some of this with you soon!
This specialist did remind me that miscarriages are inevitable and are not always explainable. We could try this method with progesterone and I could still miscarry due to unknown causes… My natural reaction to this reminder and reality was sadness and discouragement…but then I realized it wasn’t sad at all! NO! It was completely reassuring and promising that we cannot fix or explain our situation but GOD CAN! I choose to believe that he will give us another miracle and I will continue trusting his timing and plan until he does! I’m choosing to be content in the waiting room. At times it feels he isn’t there but I know he is truly carrying us through this time and I choose to trust him.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:3-4 NLT
My health since surgery 2 months ago has been a roller coaster of symptoms and emotions with many ups and downs along the way. The time between periods has improved greatly. The hormones are not fun, to say the least (haha). My body is trying to readjust which can be a major job all on it’s own! I’m thankful I’m not experiencing pain at random times like I was before surgery! The nausea seems to be better, the fatigue is better, and overall, I feel like my health is coming back during this time! So far my symptoms during a period are not much better. The pain has been severe with new types of pain like burning which I hadn’t experienced before. Normally I would experience sharp pains and dull aching pains but I’ve recently felt like my lower abdomen or pelvic area was on fire, literally. If anyone has any info on this type of symptom, I’m all ears! I pray things continue to improve and I’m doing what I can in my own, like going to a primarily fruit and veggie diet with healthy proteins and carbs in between. I’m also working out when I can to strengthen my body. I will share more about my diet and workouts soon! Even though these are not the results I was hoping and praying for, I know God’s hand is in everything and no matter what I will continue to trust him completely! I still believe he can and will heal me and I will not stop believing.
I want to encourage anyone struggling with symptoms that could be related to endometriosis or other related diseases. I want to encourage those struggling with infertility and miscarriages as well. Keep fighting for your health! Don’t settle with doctors who make you feel like a number. Do your research. Know your options. Reach out to people that have been there and done it. Allow your family and friends to carry you through the hard times. And most importantly, trust God! Trust his plan and surround yourself with those who love and support you and those who do it with the love of God! Also remember, you are NOT alone! There is a community of warriors, millions of women struggling with similar issues. It’s hard when you’re in the middle of the fight..it can definitely feel isolating and lonely but you are not alone. ❤
I truly appreciate all the prayers, love, and support and hope to give you all exciting news in the coming months! The below verse is one of my favorites and I felt like sharing it with you all!
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 NLT
