celebrating life!

Hello friends! Well, another year has come and gone and I’m another year older! By God’s grace, another year wiser! If you’re anything like me, you love birthdays and think every single one should be celebrated…no matter how old you are! There’s always a reason to celebrate life and all God has done for you through the years! I’m entering the last year of my 20’s and I couldn’t be more excited! (I’m also excited for my 30’s for anyone wondering..haha)!

More than ever before, I feel like I know who I am and who I’m striving to be! I’m not perfect, I haven’t reached all my goals and have a long way to go, but I feel comfortable with ME! I’m embracing who God made me and called me to be.

This year, my 29th year, I want to continue to grow and become the best me possible! I will not stay in my comfort zone. I will follow my heart, love bigger, dream more, and remove anything in my life that interferes with my goals. I will surround myself with lovely people who challenge me, celebrate my good, bad, and everything in between. I will celebrate those lovely people as well!

That is one thing and maybe the most important thing I learned in my 28th year… self-health and self-worth! I learned that I am not required to make others happy or sacrifice who I am for anyone else. I am not required to live my life according to other’s expectations of me or who they think I should be. I am only required to stay close to God, be true to myself, do my best, be kind, love others, and surrender to His will in my life! If I do this, God can use me to lift others up and share His love with them!

And that’s what I want…I want to make a difference, I NEED to make a difference! There’s a desire inside of me to reach out to others. Those hurting, broken, or on a journey to restoration. To you reading this post, you matter, and you will be OK! God has a purpose and plan for your life and trusting Him is the best choice you will ever make! Giving Him complete control and surrendering to Him will lead to a life full of blessings and hope. It won’t be perfect, but it will be better than any other life you could choose! Take it from someone who had to do the same, in times of brokenness, weakness, and hurt, I had to decide who I would follow. I had to decide what life I wanted to live. I walked away for a time, but He called me back and I answered! I’m so glad I did, and I’ve never regretted that decision!

One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope! He has a plan we could never design for ourselves. He wants to give us peace! A peace we can’t explain. Life may not always go the way we think it should..or the way we want it to..but our Father in Heaven knows the beginning from the ending! We only see right now but He sees our future, He sees it all! Will you trust Him?

I love you all and I can’t wait to continue this year and journey with you!
